Stay away from the water!

If water of unknown depth covers the road, or if the water is flowing rapidly, find an alternate route or delay your travel.

If you're caught in your car in rising flood water, you should abandon your car and move to higher ground if you can do so safely. If you must stay in your car, roll down the windows.

Be especially careful at night when it is difficult to recognize the dangers of floods.

If flood waters are threatening to come into your home, call your local fire department to obtain sandbags.
