Sometimes things happen to us that could be a threat to our lives or our property. The Morrow County Emergency Management Agency in helping you be better prepared to deal with an emergency. Knowing what to do and when to do it could make all the difference. Emergency management is a systematic, organized approach to analyzing, planning, making decisions, and assigning resources to mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from all hazards, manmade or natural. The goal of emergency management is to save lives, prevent injuries, and protect property and the environment if an emergency occurs. The Morrow County Emergency Management Agency (MCEMA) handles the emergency management activity for Morrow county and helps municipalities in their emergency management activities when asked. During a major emergency or disaster, the MCEMA coordinates private and public sector resources to focus efforts on response and recovery. Should local and county resources and capabilities be exhausted, the MCEMA asks for assistance from state and federal emergency management organizations. In the recovery stage of a major disaster, the MCEMA will try to get Morrow County included in state and federal executive disaster declarations. This will help provide relief and spur recovery.
