Individuals make application and eligibility is determined for the
following State and Federal programs:
Food Stamps
Ohio Works First (OWF)
Medicaid
Disability Assistance (DA)
- Food Stamp eligibility is determined according to the living situation of
individuals residing together, income and resources
- OWF provides financial assistance for dependent children
- Medicaid Health Insurance provides medical care to low income persons
meeting eligibility criteria who are age 65 years and over, blind, disabled
or categorically eligible. Coverage is provided for individuals living
independently, as well as those in institutions. Waiver programs also
provide home health care for individuals who require internediate or skilled
level care.
- Transportation for medical appointments
- PRC-funding available to assist parents with employment, such as car
payments and repairs, uniforms, tools, emergency services, various community
services, etc.
- DA is a state program providing minimal assistance for individuals
(without children) who are eligible for federal programs
- Healthy Start/Healthy Families provides medical coverage for low income
children, pregnant women, and some families.
- Pregnancy Related Services
- Healthchek - thorough medical examination for children birth to 21 years
- Early Start - Assessment and follow-up services for children birth to
three years
