MORROW COUNTY PARK RULES

 

 

1.            Morrow County Parks are open to the public only between sunrise and sunset unless accompanied by a member of the Morrow County Park District Board during an organized program.  

2.            No person shall leave the official or improved trails while visiting the natural areas of a Park unless involved in a Morrow County Park District organized program requiring off-trail activity.  

3.            No person shall injure, deface, destroy or remove any rocks, trees, shrubs, plants, flowers, mushrooms, or other vegetation.  

4.            No person shall disturb or harass any bird or other animal, its nest or habitat within a Park.  

5.         No person shall operate or ride a bicycle, horse, or motorized vehicle on Park trails.  

6.         No person shall leave any vehicle within a Park after closing except in an emergency and only after obtaining permission from the Morrow County Park Board.  

7.         Fishing is permitted in streams within Parks with an Ohio fishing license as required by the Ohio Division of Wildlife.  

8.         No person shall release any wild or domestic animal or plant in a Park.

9.         No person shall swim in any pond or river within a Park.

10.       Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the Parks.

11.       Dogs and cats must be restrained by a leash no more than 8 feet in length.  Any excrement deposited by a dog or cat must be immediately removed by the animal’s owner or custodian.

12.       Littering is prohibited.  A carry-in/carry-out policy for trash is in effect for the Parks.  No trashcans are provided in the Parks.  This helps reduce costs and eliminate unsightly containers and associated insect pests.

13.       Hunting and trapping are prohibited in the Parks.

14.       ALL STATE LAWS APPLY.  Ohio Revised Code sections including motor         vehicles, wildlife, and environmental protection all apply to Park properties and may be enforced by any Ohio law enforcement officer.

15.      Until otherwise specified, the above rules apply to Cedar Fork Park , but not to Sautter Park or Sheedy Sanctuary.  Entrance into the Sautter and Sheedy properties requires a written permit from the Park Board.  The permit application form is available online at www.morrowcounty.info/morrowcountyparkdistrict
