Profile of Morrow County, Ohio from Ohio Deparment of Development

Small Business Development Center

Morrow County, Ohio is strategically located in central Ohio with two major interchanges along Interstate 71, a major north-south route through Ohio, and access to US 42 and US 23.  We are located approximately 35 miles north of Columbus, the state capital, 20 miles south of Mansfield, 15 miles east of Marion, and 85 miles south of Cleveland.  While primarily a rural community, Morrow County is home to a diverse manufacturing base such as Taylor Industries (plastic injection molding machines); Yutaka Technologies (automotive parts supplier); Stahl A. Scott Fetzler Company (truck bodies); Core Systems, LLC (plastic injection molding parts; Iberia Fabricators (metal fabrication); Gerich Fiberglass (fiberglass trailers and kiosks), and many more.

Development is underway to expand several commercial and industrial development areas along the Interstate 71 interchanges and in the two largest villages; Mt. Gilead (county seat) and Cardington.  Access and availability to a large labor force (over 200,000 within 20 miles) provide an excellent opportunity for new and expanding businesses.
